Course & Shopping

The 1 week PTK 3 course was rather a shopping trip for most of us as the venue was at Quality Hotel located just behind Sogo. So, although the days were packed with talks and worksyop, the ladies were trying theor best to sneak out to the mall. I manage to buy a token for everybody in the family include sisters in law. The item includes 3 pairs of shoes, 2 handbag, 9 t shirts and 3 gowns :)

And we also took the advantage to visit planetarium with the kids on Sunday, and end up caught in traffic jam caused by the Hindraf rally:( Well, at a brief my kids were really enjoyed their 1 week stay at Ancho`s house especially their one day out at the KLCC Park, swimming and playing. Thanks to my sis in law Kak Cho for taking them out that day:)

On the way home from KL, we dropped by to view our house in Teluk Intan which already a nursery:)

Abir`s Birthday etc

Its been quite a while since the last time I blog. The kids were not fit last week.. having cough, flu and fever. In fact Aufa had few set of vomiting and diarhea until today. Birthday boy Abir had to celebrate his birthday feverish as well. We held his birthday party at his kindergarten, where I baked a rich choc cake decorated with Elmo`s character. The kids really enjoyed themselves at least an hour before the classes resume. Later we celebrate at Pizza`s Hut with the birthday granddad too, who shared the same birthday with Abir. The last 2 years, their birthday celebration were more eventful as it was held 2+1 with Raya Open House.

Abir is giving his friends the party-pack

The lady in pink shirt is his teacher, Mrs Jeva
Elmo`s moist choc cake
Aufa`s big grinn..

The last few weeks were fulled with Open House invitations that make us didn`t have chances to squeeze in a slot for our Open House this year. We usually held a `combined open house` with my parent the previous year. This year, it seems that our colleagues and friends held their open house almost everyday includes the weekdays. This is the advantage living in a quite place where it is hassle-free and no traffic that you can reach home in 15 mins drive. Believe me even one of Abang`s co-worker held a lunchhour open house too!

Aside from open house, the weekend also were packed with JIM`s programmes namely Kem Keindahan BersamaMu, The Unfortunate Visit, Hospital Volunteers work and so forth. We have to missed Pak Su`s aqiqah kenduri since we were assigned a duty on a state KBM programme on the Deepavali week in Teluk Senangin. Anyway, we went back a 2 days prior the kenduri, which enable Abang helping the kenduri preparation and I also manage to prepare 200 pcs of custard-jelly cocktail to the guests.

I`ll be having PTK3 starting 20-28th November. Hopefully I will pass and shall be relocated to Peninsular Hospital when my MSc completed. Talking about the MSc, the progress is quite speedy, I guess. I`ve done the clinical part and begin doing the analysis and drafting the chapters which is the horrendous part of all.

Guess what, as for now.. my kids are all excited for a week school-holidays in their cousin`s house next week.

Thumbs up to Abir

My son Abir is `Isomil-free` since 18th October 2007 at his 4 years and 11 months old.. I must count this as one of his achievement:) His started taking less milk on Raya days. And eventually, he just stopped asking for milk. At first, he was like having few mood swings, in attempt to free his mind to ask for milk, I suppose. Later, he`s said` Otak abir ni asyik nak susu, susu susu aje, ummi.." I replied, "Tak ape, abir cakap kat otak abir, yg susu isomil tak sedap, minum susu Marigold aje..lagi best!ok?" So., he seems satisfied with my answer.

Now, we`re replacing his calcium with increasing his food nutrition calorie and dairy sources. He`s good at eating, anyway..so we`re not worry. One will always say a non-breastfed baby is choosy in eating, right? But, Abir is not. Perhaps, since he is 4 months.., I`ve tried all sort of baby`s food recipe to indulge his appetite. My sister in law, Kak Cho inspires me in preparing baby`s food:) And I`m not a bit loss.

So, we `ve bought a new bike for him , to reward his victory. We consider it as an advanced bithday gift.

The difference which crossed to my notice since he is wean off the milk that is he is begin to utter the words more soundly, which means less lisping.

My husband said...well what we`re going to do with his Isomil budget that cost us RM200 per month now? Well.. I just grinn :D

The Other Half`

Introducing my `the other half`s siblings & family:)

My husband is the 3rd out of 9. As compared to me, 3rd of the four. Previous Hari Raya was like a re-union for the 9 siblings in the family. Everyone were there, except Kak Linda who celebrate the eve at Serdang.

Baju Raya Theme

2001
we`ve got married 8th of Syawal. So, it was an outfit in Vanished Silver.

2002

I was in confinement. Not really into Raya mood. Anyway, mom got me a embroidered blue baju kurung, same with abang`s baju Melayu.

2003
Delighted as Abir is 1 year old. We dressed in pale yellow :). Had a >12 hours journey to Kulim from JB:( (imagine the traffic)

2004
I`m carrying Aufa , 6 months in womb. Still, we manage to set in a Light Purple theme:). Raya in Sitiawan.

2005
So excited, since Aufa is already 8 months old.I fitted her with acute baju kurung too same fabric with mine. We were in yellowish green outfit. Raya in Kulim.

2006
It was Raya in Sitiawan. I chose apple green 2 layered jubah for Aufa & me. So the guys in family were also in green.

2007 (this year!)
The 1st day of raya was in Kulim. Abang decided a dark purple marroonish colour as this year theme. I sew sparkling beads floral on my baju kurung. Mom sew Aufa`s:)

Mama & Festive Bakery

She`s been baking festive cookies as long as I can remember, that should be around I was 4 years old. But, she the fact is..mama said, she baked as young as she was 8 years old.
Mama was a primary teacher with 10 NGOs + 1 political party. That`s enough to describe how`s busy her days were. Still, she manage to baked thousand of cookies. Her cookies were ordered from her school-colleagues, relatives & NGOs friends. Her cookies order were not only during Raya festives, but also for other festivals as well. Her no 1 and evergreen cookie is the pineapple roll tart. The taste is unbeatable. She made the jam herself, instead of buying.
I still remember Ancho, Angah and I were merely helping greasing & garnishing the cookies. Our tiny fingers would sometimes sneak out several cookies to the mouth, yet claimed still fasting:) Farah was not so interested helping though. She said, she couldn`t stand the smell of butter in our our kitchen, and it was like a bakery factory, with lots of cookies on the shelves. At one time, after several years I was about to lose enthusiast as well, feeling the aura to throw up at everytime seeing those bunch of cookies. Later, I enjoy it untill now.Amazingly, although mama baked most of the time during Ramadhan (especially), she manage to khatam Al-Quran, perform tarawikh and attending her NGOs activities:)
Until today, although she had retired teaching, she`s more busy with NGOs and keep on baking. The secret of her delicious cookies? She bakes for joy.Not for bussiness. She uses all the quality ingredients ,no matter what -eventhough the butter and flour`s price is increasing. She has never calculate how much she spent and how much she earn from her cookies selling. What else can I say?...she`s one superb mom!

IHYA` RAMADHAN AL MUBARAK

Wishing all muslims throughout the world "a prosperous Ramadhan."

Verses of Qur'an

2:183
O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that ye may (learn) self-restraint

2:184
(Fasting) for a fixed number of days; but if any of you is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed number (should be made up) from days later. For those who can do it (with hardship), is a ransom, the feeding of one that is indigent. But he that will give more, of his own free will, it is better for him. And it is better for you that ye fast, if ye only knew.

On the way back from Rompin, we spent a night at Angah`s house in Temerloh. The next morning, Abang popped up with the idea of visiting `Paris` village. So, we set off to Bukit Tinggi Resort...This is really cuti-cuiti Malaysia eh.:P

  1. Berkumpul adik beradik dengan masing-masing ada anak-anak yang sedang membesar & pelbagai kerenah (cuma auntie farah saja yang masih solo!takpe..the time will come,no worries, farah.)

  • majlis marhaban, berendoi & cukur jambul baby Qaisarah Kamilia & Amir Abdullah.
  • menyambut bulan Ramadhan al Mubarak
  • confirmation u44 optometrist
  • kandang saujana putra dah mula operasi

Where were we?

We spent 5 days, 4 nights in KL last week. Alhamdulillah, I have completed all the tasks successfully. The days were packed with seminar, meeting & discussion whereby the nights were filled with window-shopping. We took the kids to each mall that located along the monorail line every evening. We also spend a night at my friend`s house , Eda in Damansara Damai. The condo`s 8th floor landscaping amazed us.The next day, we paid a visit to a Goat`s Farm in Shah Alam, (where Abir & Aufa played with the calf like their own pet), we even had chances to ride on a pony including Aufa. The closing day, on the way back to Ancho`s house, we dropped the kids at the Megakidz chaperoned by Ju, (our maid) while both of us spent our sweet time together shopping:) at the mall, but exactly we spent most of the time at the MAPEX exhibition.

lepak di depan pool, tak bawa pulak swimming attire kids, so no swimming dear..

Last Saturday, Abang is so generous to send me to UKM bangi, as I have a SPSS worksyop there. Actually, I already bought a bus ticket 3 days earlier. Although, he is not the kind of romantic husband like those in novels, (as I would say...)but occasionally he will suprised me in his own ways. Pity him, I can spotted that he was bored throughout the day, waiting me outside the hall yet he didn`t admit it. That`s cool!! Luckily, it was UKM convo day, where he got 3 rounds of strolling at the convo`s fest stalls:), until later that evening when we went there after lecture, he could memorize the most of the stalls location & stuff.

Today, again we are in KL, as I have another lecture. Initially I plan to go by bus, but at the very last minute Abang got a phone call from Ayah, breaking the news of Hajiroh`s accident in Batu Pahat, last 2 days. Pity Jioh! So, once again..abang is the man! He straight away said he offered to go to BP and bring Hajiroh home. So, he headed there after dropped me at the faculty. Drive safe, dear.

Well, got to pen off now.

Abir couldn`t wait for another series of Kumon class although he was merely enrolled to Kumon last month. He was thinking that the class is held daily like his kindergarten. Well, I know why he is yearning to go to Kumon everyday. That’s because in Kumon, the environment is totally different! No yelling, threatening or scolding in order to gain the children co-operation and attention. That is really true. There was one day, where I got the chances to see him attending the class, and I reveal the secret. It is so ironic, seeing him being so attentive and enthusiasts during Kumon.

What is Kumon? It is a center founded by Mr. Toru Kumon, where they believe in :
1. self-learning as the basic component in learning
2. Repeatition until engraved in the subconscious
3. Consistency until they can do it with ease

I get to know about Kumon from the newspaper and later I found out my nieces & nephews (Houris, Ali & Umar) went to Kumon several months ago. My Sister in Law testified what has Kumon did with her kids.

And, so far Abir did great! He loves doing his homework , keep up with the time and more vigilant now.

Man & Farra

We already booked our last weekend to welcome Man & Farra`s visit. Man had a school re-union at Pangkor Island, and they stop by to see us here. Apart from being quite busy , I manage to prepare lunch for them. I only started cooking around 11.30am since before that I sent Abir to Little Mozart at 10.00am and, then only I rushed off to the market and bought groceries to cook, and pick him at 11.00am. The next day, Abang and I organize an Aulad programme at Lumut Waterfront. They had few activities such as treasure hunt, nasyid reciting etc.

Then, I prepare chicken chop for Man & Farra, before the went to Penang at afternoon.I will upload the pictures later.Okay?

Mama & Abah already in Jakarta until Saturday.Abang and I have seminar in KL until next Monday.:)

Kawan Farah..

Alkisahnya last few days, kawan farah datang ke rumah.

Amblyopia kids

These two kids are among of other six amblyopic children who involved in my masters programme. The chinese girl is wearing glasses with -10.00DS power (5x than mine!)and the malay kid is wearing glasses of -4.00DC. Although its quite a hectic hours dealing with them... they always make me smile.

Abang`s Birthday

As long as I can remember, he has never shows any feelings on his birthday...not excited at all,he treated his birth-day as typical as the other days. And, the worst part is, he won`t even remember his own birthday date!!!unless someone (of course me)reminds him every day a week before.:)

I am the one who are impatiently yearning to plan the birthday for him. I even bought him a new leather wallet,in advance for his birthday gift, a month earlier. Anyway, he was pleased anyway..:P but in his own ways.

We held a small celebration at home, which mama had baked a vanilla cream cake during the course and I baked a blueberry cheese cake. All in all...the kids are really excited more than the birthday dad!

Menunya merangkumi Western Food sehingga Hawker Food, bakery & pastry.

Semalam, mama dah pun membeli beberapa peralatan untuk memulakan N`s bakery & pastry. Inilah impian mama sejak pencen yang akhirnya hampir menjadi kenyataan.

Durian festival!

When we got back to Abang Kampung this weekend, we were bloated with durian which costs merely RM15 for 7 durians.

Suprisingly Abir who is beeing so choosy about food at last loves it:)

Another nieces..

Alhamdulillah, after 40 weeks of waiting, Kak Cho safely delivered her 5th children. A baby girl weight 3.67kg at SJMC yesterday.Congrats to both of you!Enjoy the new bundle of joy!!

Bila kids jadi `ikan`…

Weekend lepas, i was feeling so good since my project in cheras has already completed. So, On Friday, I sms eda, nak spend the night at her home. Tak pernah singgah rumah dia walaupun berkali2 lalu. Best rumahnye, ada jusco kat ground floor:)Best lah!!chatting macam zaman dulu-dulu.

Then Ahad pula, selepas Abang and kids datang dari perak kami bermalam di rumah Ancho di Kemensah Villa, Ulu Klang. Sejak malam lagi, kids dah excited nak swimming. Kak Cho yang on stand by utk deliver J baby ke-5 masih seperti biasa ligat dengan camera utk capture precious moment kids inside the pool.

Here they are...

HOURIS ADLINA

At a glance, she seems as if she is dancing (ballet) in the pool. And at the other moment, upon noticing her body immersed beneath the surface, I quickly asked "okay ke houris tu?", and only feel relieved when Kak Cho assured she`s already trained to dive in.

ALI IMRAN

This 6 years old boy, has no fear to water. He has his own technique to manipulate with the water . Ali has his own styleJ. Abang learns swimming from him too. You should see how he stroke the water when swimming. It`s awesome.

ABIR ISLAMI

He`s just about to be brave with the pool. With Ali as his mentor, he `s inspired to explore..but only with the swimming band onJ, We`re concerned of his asthma, because at the moment he got into the pool, he was already sneezing 4-5 times. But, he doesn`t bother anyway.

UMAR HAITHAM

Umar is still swimming in the children`s pool. Kak Cho said, he had one bad experience before, when he accidentally fall in the adults` pool and immersed to the base. So, he is quite careful since then. Nevertheless, he enjoys playing with Aufa & Uthman.

AUFA TASNEEM

This petite 2 years old girl, is still doesn`t care much to swim. She is only enjoying herself with water-splash while once in while drink the pool water purposely. Yet, he has no problems when Abang took her to the adults pool.

UTHMAN KHALIS

Uthman is same age with Aufa. Believe me he could make his body float in the adults pool! It happened when suddenly Kak Cho screamed "Eh, Uthman is in the adults`s pool!" Everyone was very panick. But because seeing him floating at the surface ,confused me. He wasn`t panicked and also didn`t cry, only his limbs and arms stroking the water to float and pushing his body up. Until after few seconds only, Ancho dived to the pool to rescue him. We were all relieved and amazed at the same time.
